I was hired a few months after the start of this project when a lot of things were going badly. My job was to turn what was close to being a very expensive failure to the first underground robot delivery network. I was the only engineer and managed a team of construction contractors to build the infrastructure while simulaneously handling the robotics myself. I cut out major inefficiencies in construction while tightening quality control and was on the ground installing tunnels, pouring concrete, and laying rail. It was not uncommon to have 48 hour work days to complete impossible tasks. I tested the robot, making mechanical improvements up until we ran our first delivery ~1 year from when I started. I steadily improved and troubleshooted the system up until we sunset the project as we made a major change to our technology that relegated the Alanta pilot to be no longer useful for our testing. |
